Common questions

Everything you need to get started.

  • How do I become a Pilates instructor in the UK?

The recognised route is a Level 3 qualification in teaching Pilates from a YMCA certified provider. We deliver Level 3 Matwork and Reformer apparatus courses as blended learning: online study plus practical workshops at our studios in Poole.

  • How much does Pilates teacher training cost?

The Level 3 Matwork course is £1,495. Apparatus modules are priced individually from £650, or take Reformer, Tower and Wunda Chair together for £2,795. Every course can be paid across two interest-free instalments.

  • How long does the training take?

The Matwork course runs over around 6 months, with a further 3 months for the Reformer apparatus course. We're flexible: you can pause and take time to practise teaching matwork before joining the Reformer course.

  • Do I need experience before I start?

No teaching experience is needed. Most students come from a regular Pilates practice or another fitness discipline. We'll talk it through with you before you enrol.

  • Is the qualification recognised internationally?

Yes. Our Level 3 YMCA certified qualifications are widely recognised across the UK and accepted by studios, gyms and insurers internationally.
